Nature versus Nurture: Can we control our response to stress?

Epigenetics and the “new” biology defines how our thoughts, attitudes, and beliefs create our body’s conditions, ranging from health to disease. Since only 1% of disease is due to genetic defects, the remaining 99% is directly attributable to the environment and our nervous system’s perception of the environment.

In the recent World Summit on Integrative Medicine, Dr. Bruce Lipton shared the latest findings on stress and how our environment and our thoughts are 99% of what contributes to our health or disease.

He says stress is recognized to be the primary source of disease and responsible for up to 90% of all doctor office visits.

“It is now known that our thoughts, whether right or wrong, actually change our biology.”

The Buddha said, “What we think, we become.” Epigenetics is now saying, “What you are thinking is translated into chemistry, which will determine what you will become.”

What it represents is this: the influences of our thoughts are translated into chemistry, which leads to inappropriate or unproductive behavior and to what we call disease.”

Since our thoughts and beliefs have a powerful physical effect on our health and well-being, it is safe to say “stress matters”. We can’t just look at it as “part of life” but more how we can quickly and easily release it from our minds and bodies as it appears.

Negative thinking and limiting beliefs slow us down, keep us stuck, and stop our healing process. Our emotional blockages not only hold us back, but literally block the flow of healing energy.

Our upcoming TFT Well-Being Retreat will address stress at its source. We will begin by assessing our level of stress and overall health, then take the time to de-stress using simple self-applied tools we can take home with us.

During the retreat, we will learn how to:

  • move past our conditioning and respond rather than react
  • release the toxicity of stored emotions
  • identify and neutralize toxins and substances that trigger self-sabotage

Research has been demonstrating the incredible physiological as well as psychological effects that Tapping has on our emotions and our body. The physical action of Tapping on the meridians, calms the amygdala and the fight or flight response, balancing our autonomic nervous systems.

PLUS the identification of specific blocks and the ability to remove them has the power to release our limiting beliefs and negative thinking and replace it with positive ones.

If you are feeling overwhelmed, and finished with feeling tired and sick of non-stop stress, join me for life transformative five days in our new TFT Well-Being Retreat.

And, while we de-stress and decompress you will experience one of the greatest support tools to breathe easier. We will learn to meditate with ease, using precision technology – taking all of the effort out of it, leaving us with just the benefits. Join others just like you in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains to relax, renew, and transform your life.

Happy Birthday with Gratitude and Love

roger-dogs2

Today, May 8, was Roger Callahan’s birthday.  He was born in 1925.

As I remember him with love and gratitude, I think of the hundreds of thousands over the years who have benefitted from his work.

Right now in Rwanda, thousands are being healed from the genocide as they are in their 100 day mourning period.  I have received reports from Byumba and the IZERE Center about the many they are helping.  TFT Kigali has just sent me pictures of the thousands they are helping in Kigali.  Our foundation team in Paris helped many after their recent bombings, as did our Redlands team following the San Bernardino shootings.

Everywhere we look, we see the need for this powerful healing modality.  Please take a minute and join me in sending love, light and gratitude to all, in his memory.

An Inside Look at our TFT Well-Being Retreat

Since we launched our new Well-Being Retreats, many have been asking me, “What can I expect at a Well-Being retreat?”  So, at the suggestion of one of the attendees, and with the help of our recent attendees, I will share a few highlights from this recent life-changing week.

Each day contains a bit of exercise, nature, peace, good food, training and treatment with TFT and the use of the latest technologies to assess our current state of health.

We began our day with a walk through the beautiful Virginia woods, with spring all around us, flowers, deer, and birds singing.  When we arrived at the Meditation Environment we all set our personal intentions for healing and began our healing circle meditation with specific vibrational technology to facilitate our health and well-being.  Immediately following our meditation, spent a brief time, using TFT to balance our individual and group emotions and energy.  By then we all were ready for our healthy breakfast.

Well Being Tapping Group

Following breakfast, our mornings were spent in group training and practice sessions.  Following these educational sessions, everyone was off to their individual protocols.  These included assessments such as a healing CoRe Inergetix session or the opportunity to have a brain map.  Others received a Neurofield balancing treatment for their brain.  Crystal Light Therapy and Shiatsu massages were high on everyone’s list as well.  I think the most repeated and loved experience for all was the indescribable Awakened Heart sessions.

Core and TFT Tapping

wb3The food, whether one preferred Paleo, Vegan or in-between was wonderful—-and—-healthy.

After lunch, we again had a group session then individual TFT sessions and other protocols.  Our afternoons ended with Yoga or just chilling out.

After our evening meal we had some presentations by experts in the technologies we were using or further individual work.  We ended our evenings with a meditation and another walk through the woods.

The small group size and intimate setting allows us to focus on the needs of those attending and to customize their schedule during the week, based on their needs.

The other question I am often asked is, “What kinds of things can be helped at the retreat?”

Each retreat is customized to the needs of the individuals participating.  For example, this last retreat, we worked on grief and loss, back pain, weight loss, life overwhelm, finding and living our passion, business success, spiritual growth, releasing fear and anxiety, and healing past trauma.

It was an amazing, fun and healing week at the Synchronicity Foundation Sanctuary. We shared tears, joy and new found friendships.  Everyone left with a new perspective, more inner peace and some tools to continue their healing journey.

I believe we have found the perfect blend of technologies, environment and healing tools to support TFT in helping us to reach our optimal health and well-being.

We visited some of the most beautiful waterfalls and hot water pools you can imagine.  And, we did all of this in the area surrounding the heart chakra of the earth.

Everyone experienced healing and life changing transformations. They all left with the tools to continue their healing journey.  We are already planning next year’s event in this beautiful country.

The beauty, energy (a base of deep quartz crystal) and some of TFT’s newest tools created a spectacular experience for us all.  I am now getting ready for our next Well-Being retreat in another magical place, the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia.  And, I brought back a special healing tool from Brazil.  Watch for news on this new tool to be added to our Well-Being Retreat.

Tap Away the Blues

Unhappiness Is On The Rise…

Most people really come to TFT and try tapping because they want to be happier or improve their quality of life. They believe that if they could reduce their stress, fears, anxiety, pain and many other negative emotions or conditions they could be happier, they could find their ideal mate, get a better job, or attract greater success into their lives.

A quick internet search on Depression shows that the number of cases is growing at an alarming rate. It also shows that areas with higher rates of depression have high rates of other negative health outcomes, such as obesity, heart disease, and stroke. Individuals suffering from depression are more likely to be unemployed or recently divorced than their non-depressed counterparts, and women experience greater risk of depression than men.

Despite these facts, many people suffer symptoms of depression without seeking care, and that undiagnosed depression costs the U.S. millions of dollars each year. Now a global health issue, depression awareness, diagnosis, and treatment are matters of crucial significance in building a healthier, happier world.

Boot Camp in Denver, Colorado September 24-25, 2013

By Jenny Edwards, TFT-VT

A Boot Camp was held September 28-29, 2013 in Denver, Colorado at the Staybridge Suites near Denver International Airport. Six people attended. Two of the participants were taking Boot Camp for the second time, and four were new to TFT. Their stories are below.

I thoroughly enjoyed this class! I began to get sick with the flu; however, we relieved some stress and ingested toxins, which gave my body a much better opportunity to heal itself. Jenny is a wonderful teacher and a walking example of what she teaches. I look forward to incorporating this into my Holistic Animal Practice and my Breathwork Practice. –Mary Kennedy, In the Presence of Animals

This training was awesome! I was able to get rid of my spider phobia and the trauma from my second grade teacher that has plagued me for 50-plus years! I’m excited to go out and give others the tools to help themselves. Jenny was great. She was fun and explained things excellently! –Dee

This is my second TFT training. I was brand new to TFT five months ago. The first training was exciting and also overwhelming. Now, I really feel more confident in my knowledge and ability to use TFT. In addition, I was able to release anxiety from a childhood trauma and physical pain from an adult accident. I am hopeful about the impact TFT will have on family, friends, and clients.

At the training, my HRV was tested. After the baseline was taken, I was treated for a childhood trauma. I began treatment with a picture in my mind of a situation that has haunted me for almost 30 years. While working with Jenny, the picture was erased as my SUD was lowered to 0. As I sat to measure my post-HRV level, something remarkable happened. The picture returned; however, the people in the picture had changed. The people who originally had been full of horror were now full of joy. It is as if the SUD did not just drop to 0, but it completely reversed to a minus 10! I am overwhelmed with surprise by what seems like a healing miracle! Thanks for all you do! –Janice Steinbach

This is my second Boot Camp experience. It has helped to solidify the concepts of TFT. While I didn’t feel comfortable using TFT in my work after the first Boot Camp, I feel ready to start now. Jenny is a wonderful instructor. She makes you feel comfortable in dealing with even the most sensitive of traumas. –Judy Israel
