stress guideOur last issue of the Thought Field newsletter shared a touching story about a little girl in the hospital dying from cancer, and suffering severe pain.  As I was reading it, I thought back about several times over the years, that Roger would work with a cancer patient, who, like this little girl, was in severe pain, in spite of the morphine drips and heavy medical pain killers.

As I thought about the many instances over the years that we have provided pain relief for someone, where nothing else had worked, I was reminded about what a powerful and simple tool we have to help chronic pain sufferers.

A quick internet search helped me quantify the number of people and conditions daily burdened with physical pain.

Lower back pain, headaches, neck pain, arthritis pain and any chronic pain create a lower overall quality of life.  Chronic pain sufferers – over 100 million in the USA alone – report: Read more

Dear Joanne:

Once again, please receive my heartfelt thanks from me as well as those who were trained in the TFT techniques, those who have received and continue to receive such invaluable tool to help them mitigate their suffering following the earthquake.

I finally had a chance to post something on the Angels for Haiti blog. Here is the link Haiti Trip.

The ATFT Foundation (charitable arm of the Association for Thought Field Therapy) provided a generous grant and the gracious help of a husband and wife team Dr. Howard and Nurse Phyll Robson, both TFT trainers from England. We provided a 3-day training involving 30 Haitian teachers, nurses, community leaders, medical and nursing students, from as far as Port-au-Prince.

The training not only helped them personally but also gave them the opportunity to help relieve the trauma of as many earthquake survivors as possible. Even more importantly, trainees learned techniques on how to relieve pain, which would be beneficial in an area when medical personal and pain relief medications are scarcely available.

I have talked to some of the attendees in Haiti for these past few days. Here is what they had to say:

“In a culture where a mental illness is frowned upon, the TFT training gave us a new perspective on how we humans work. This tool is a lifetime gift. Many of us now see our fellow human being in a different light.”

“After taking the training, it has helped me improve my communication with those I serve.”

“After losing everything including my home, family members, and everything I worked for, participating in the TFT training gave me a new lease on life. I am now a healthy citizen who is using the tools I have learned to help those who were suffering just like me.”

“As a teacher, I use these techniques with my students; their attention span in the classroom has greatly improved.”

“It was such a great gift that we received from the Robsons – who taught from the heart”

Many community leaders also asked me to convey their heartfelt thank to the TFT team.

With love and gratitude,
Dr. Carolle

Joanne Callahan London England TFT Boot Camp

A Report From Our London Boot Camp

The first thing I noticed when I arrived at The Royal Society of Medicine were the two beautifully entwined verdigris serpents outside the front entrance, the rod of Asclepius which of course is the ancient symbol for healing. How totally appropriate for a weekend where all the focus would be on learning how to heal and make people feel better.

The ancient combines with the modern at the Royal Society as their marketing name is One Wimpole Street and it appears on the complementary pens and note pads provided for conferences and courses. The room where the Boot Camp was held is beautifully furnished and importantly for the purposes of TFT there are no new carpets, paint or flourescent lighting which can all act as energy toxins capable of disrupting people’s well-being. The room was cosy and light with an antique cabinet display of old brass microscopes.

Gradually the trainees started arriving and their stories unfolded of how they came to be on the course. Several people had been introduced to TFT through Jack Black. He wrote a great article in the last Thought Field Magazine. A couple of trainees had come from a cancer clinic in Germany where they had found out about TFT during their treatment. There was a Business Coach, Kinesiologist, Reflexologist and several people were there because they wanted to learn Dr. Roger Callahan’s original therapy after having sampled the imitations.

“If you didn’t have a real powerful base therapy, the others would not work.”

Most of the trainees came with only a cursory knowledge of the Algorithm level of TFT and so the training rapidly covered the treatment protocol including correction of Psychological Reversal, which ensures an 80% success rate with all simple psychological problems.

Joanne Callahan backed up everything with real case studies and evidence of research. Lecture time was broken up with many opportunities to practice the TFT techniques together, so ensuring that the knowledge was put into muscle memory and trainees experienced how quickly they were able to eliminate negative emotions for each other.

There was a palpable feeling of excitement mixed with concentration and the rate of learning progressed at a rapid pace. A buffet lunch was provided by the Royal Society and from the conversations going on around the room it was obvious that people were getting a lot out of the training and could not wait to carry on. The afternoon was spent with moving on to learning the initial basics of causal diagnostics and why Heart Rate Variability is so important as a measure of health and progress of treatment. The day ended with a tired but happy bunch of people who had discovered things that were already changing their lives.

Day 2 – Joanne Callahan had put a challenge to the trainees the day before, what will it take to convince you of the power of TFT?

Those doing the Boot Camp had already spent the previous day eliminating fears, anxiety, long held trauma, grief and found that they did not need any more convincing than what their eyes and bodies had already witnessed. Everyone wanted to get on with learning the next level of extraordinary techniques in helping people heal and feel better.

Many more practice sessions ensued achieving rapid elimination of an addictive urge for cigarettes, a couple of cases of physical pain including an ankle that had been swollen for several years. The pain level dropped quickly from 10 to 0.

Joanne introduced the trainees to energy toxins, showing a video of Dr. Doris Rapp working with normally well-behaved children who go beserk after being exposed to an allergen. Dr. Callahan found her work to be useful in discovering how to temporarily neutralise substances that negatively affect our energy systems. A case of fatigue soon showed how energy toxins can compromise the body when the trainee found herself having to remove a bracelet, amber ring and earrings, her belt and even her cardigan! After this her energy levels felt much better.

‘Great, really interesting. So many useful tools to enrich ones well-being. I will use TFT for myself, my family and in my Pharmacy business.’             Rod James

TFT can be done as a surrogate treatment, meaning that unlike other therapies it is possible to treat babies, members of a different species and people who are paralyzed or unable to tap on themselves and even unconscious. I think that this was one of the aspects that really brought home how incredible, accessible and different TFT is.

Joanne told several wonderful and uplifting stories of the work done in Rwanda with the orphans of the genocide and in Uganda where sometimes there were no interpreters but nevertheless this did not prevent people from being treated. The result that emerges more and more clearly is the total change in people’s attitudes to their experiences. After treatment, all the orphans wanted to do is get on with their lives and the priests in Uganda found the ‘grace that we have been waiting for after 12 years’ to forgive atrocities that are incomprehensible to us.

If by treating trauma you allow compassion and forgiveness to replace anger and the wish for revenge, then world peace is a real possibility with TFT.

The Boot Camp is a new, fast track course for learning the best of the best of Thought Field Therapy and from the feedback of the trainees who attended the London training last weekend, the evidence seems to be that this is a great way of gaining those skills.

‘very good. The first day was tough but now I can see where TFT fits in and will work in my life. Now I can get even more out of TFT. I read the book Tapping The Healer Within, but now I know that the power is tremendous.’ Lynda Reddington

So if you are a coach, trainer, therapist, energy worker and you want to be a cut above the rest, the Boot Camp is an indispensable course for you. Look out for further Boot Camp dates on www.atft.org or Dr. Callahan’s site, www.rogercallahan.com

Ruby and Jack (not their real names) had been married for 63 years. They were high school sweethearts, married, raised a family, and weathered all the storms of their lives together.

Ruby was now alone. Jack had passed away in his sleep almost a year before her nephew, Bob, brought her to my office at the funeral home.

Bob was a funeral home employee working in the sales department. He had seen me work many times with patrons of our establishment in helping them past the grief that was paralyzing their lives. He had seen me direct others through “that tapping therapy you do” and wondered if I could help his aunt who – almost a year after losing her beloved husband – still cried at the mention of his name.

Ruby was a plump little woman whose face was kind and care-worn. But just talking about her deceased mate brought up a level of emotional discomfort that was impossible to miss.

Bob was concerned that her grief was so significant that it was beginning to impact her health and functioning.

After talking with her for a very short time, I took her HRV. Her SDNN was only 23. Not a very good score. Then, we started the treatment. I asked her to rate the level of her emotional discomfort. Even if she had not said so, the look on her face when I moved her into that thought field showed she was a 10. The tears welled in her eyes and her face contorted in an attempt to stifle her impulse to cry.

I applied the TFT treatment. In just seconds there was an improvement – a dramatic improvement. The tears dried up, her face relaxed and both her nephew and I noticed a new countenance settle over her. Even she looked surprised.

“What did you just do?” she asked me. I didn’t answer her question.

Rather, I asked, “How is the feeling now when you think of Jack? Is it better, worse, or the same?”

A slight smile crept across her face and she said, “I’m almost afraid to say this, but I actually feel sort of happy and lighter somehow.” Her nephew looked at me out of the corner of his eye with a disbelieving look. He was still skeptical. Read more

As TFT leaders, we have demonstrated the revolutionary power of TFT to bring peace to one’s life, over many years and in many countries.

We’ve have also experienced the frustration of not being able to get it to the world fast enough to help all who need the healing power of TFT!

Now we are working to have TFT available to all who need it, in any country and any language. We have combined the healing power of TFT with the powerful communication tool of the internet!

It takes virtually no money or moving bodies—just our joint effort to add information and connect it to the individuals and communities in need.

Millions of people worldwide suffer from violence, natural disaster, illness, divorce, loss of job, home or loved ones, etc. Imagine what impact the relief of their suffering—the fear, grief, guilt, stress, anger, hatred—could have on the world?

Helping people with anxiety, trauma and stress is what we do best. Giving the gift of emotional freedom from trauma, stress and anxiety, is a wonderful thing.

The simple words of the priests in Uganda, TFT trauma treatment gave them “…a grace they had longed for…” (see previous post) and it clearly demonstrates what a humbling tool the gift of Thought Field Therapy is for peace in the world.

It’s a beautiful demonstration of how using TFT to relieve the effects of trauma can open people to peace, compassion and community. What a difference it could make in areas that have been plagued by violent conflict.

The implication of this kind of transformation is truly inspirational, especially considered on a large scale!
